Barnes Bowling Club opens its historic green for the FiSH Barnes Open Gardens — raising money for older people in Barnes, Mortlake and East Sheen.

We're delighted to be opening the Barnes Bowling Club green as part of the FiSH Barnes Open Gardens 2026 — a wonderful afternoon of community spirit, beautiful gardens, and a very good cause.
Once every two years, Barnes opens up. Around 20 of the most beautiful private gardens across our village throw open their gates for one afternoon to raise money for FiSH Neighbourhood Care — and we're proud to be one of them.
What to Expect
From cottage gardens bursting with colour to woodland gardens with magnificent specimen trees, you'll find every style imaginable — Victorian plots, modern designs, hidden courtyards, and tranquil corners. It's a rare chance to peek behind the gates of some of Barnes' best-kept secrets.
On our beloved green, you'll find:
- The historic bowling green in its summer glory
- Members on hand to chat about the Club's 300-year heritage
- A FiSH bus hopping between gardens around the village
- Afternoon teas at the Barnes Green Centre
- A Pimm's tent and live music from the Barnes Concert Band
About FiSH
FiSH Neighbourhood Care is a local charity providing volunteer friendship, help and support to help maintain the independence of older residents in Barnes, Mortlake and East Sheen. Services include lifts to medical appointments, shopping help, befriending visits, lunchtime concerts, a dementia café and much more. Every penny raised from Open Gardens goes directly to keeping this vital work going.
From regular phone calls and visits to shopping support and friendship for those who would otherwise be isolated — FiSH makes an enormous difference to lives across our community.
